Terms of service
The rules of the dera.
Short version: be real, don't scam, don't harass. The long version is below — it governs your use of Dera Talk.
Last updated: October 4, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Dera Talk (the app and this website), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. If you're using Dera Talk for a business, you confirm you're authorized to act for that business.
2. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 13 years old and use a phone number you legitimately control. One number, one account — your account is your responsibility: keep your device secure, and tell us immediately if someone else gains access. You may delete your account at any time from the app.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Dera Talk to:
- Defraud, deceive, or impersonate any person or business — including creating fake shop pages or handles.
- Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or phishing links.
- Harass, threaten, or share content that is illegal under Pakistani law.
- Circumvent privacy controls — for example, building tools to map hidden phone numbers to profiles.
- Interfere with the service technically: scraping at scale, load testing without permission, or spreading malware.
We may warn, limit, or remove accounts that break these rules. Severe violations — especially fraud — result in immediate removal, and we cooperate with lawful authorities where the law requires.
4. Business accounts
Business profiles, @handles, catalogs, and order tools are provided for genuine trade. You're responsible for the accuracy of your business information, the products you list, and the orders you accept. A khata ledger is your record — we provide the tools, but the bookkeeping discipline is yours. Handles are granted, not sold, and may be reclaimed from abandoned or impersonating pages.
5. Wallet and payments
Wallet features are rolling out gradually and are governed by their own terms shown inside the app, together with any verification the law requires. Dera Talk is not a bank. If a dispute arises about a transaction, contact support immediately — we keep transaction records precisely so disputes can be resolved fairly. Wallet features may be paused for accounts that violate these terms.
6. Parcels and delivery
Parcels tools organize and track deliveries; they don't replace couriers, and Dera Talk isn't the carrier. You're responsible for what you send — only lawful, safe items — and for the accuracy of delivery information you enter.
7. Availability and changes
Dera Talk is a young, fast-moving product. Features may change, improve, or — rarely — be retired. We'll give reasonable in-app notice before material changes that affect how you use the service. "Beta" and "early access" labels mean exactly that: things may be rough around the edges while we polish them.
8. Intellectual property
The Dera Talk name, logo, and software belong to Dera Talk. Your content remains yours — you only grant us the license needed to store and deliver it (for example, showing your catalog to customers who visit your page).
9. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, Dera Talk isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example, lost profits from a business dispute — and our total liability for any claim is limited to PKR 10,000 or the amounts you paid us in the previous twelve months, whichever is lower. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and disputes go to the courts of Pakistan. We'll always try to resolve problems by conversation first — email support@deratalk.com before you lawyer up, and we'll do the same.
